Booking a graduation limo in Auckland around the ceremony

Graduation days run to the institution’s timetable, not yours. Check your ceremony time, where graduates need to be beforehand, and when gowns need to be collected or returned. Then plan the limo around those fixed points.

Ceremony dates, venues and any procession are set by each institution and can change from year to year, so always confirm the details on your own invitation or the official graduation pages.

University of Auckland and AUT

• University of Auckland: ceremonies have often been held in the central city, around the Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Square area, close to the city campus. In some years graduates have also walked in a procession through the city. If your day includes one, plan your pickup and drop-off around it.
• AUT: check your ceremony venue and time with AUT directly, as these are confirmed for each graduating group.

Central city streets can be busy on graduation days, with lots of families arriving at once. Allow extra time, and agree a simple meeting point with your chauffeur rather than expecting a pickup right outside the door.

Photo spots near the city campus

Two spots are close to the central city and popular for graduation photos:

• Albert Park: right beside the University of Auckland city campus, with large old trees, gardens and paths. A short walk from the central city.
• Auckland Domain and the Wintergardens: open lawns, the glasshouses and the courtyard pond give a classic backdrop. It is a short drive from the city centre.

A stretch limo also makes a good photo in its own right. Add your photo stops to the notes of your quote request so the timing is included.

Planning for family groups

A sample graduation day plan

1. Pickup: the limo collects the graduate and family from home, with gowns already sorted.
2. Drop-off near the venue: allow plenty of time before graduates need to be seated.
3. After the ceremony: meet the limo at an agreed point, then head to Albert Park or the Domain for photos.
4. Celebration: on to a restaurant for lunch or dinner, then home.

A ceremony itself can take a while, so think about whether the 2-hour package covers the trip there and the photos after, or whether you want more hours. If you want to know how the time is counted while you are in the ceremony, ask about this in the notes of your quote request.
