Wedding limousine hire Auckland: a planning checklist

Wedding transport is easier to get right when it is planned alongside the rest of the day, not after it. Work through these stages and your quote request will almost write itself.

When your venues are confirmed

• Write down the address where each person is getting ready, plus the ceremony and reception venues.
• Count who needs a ride. One limo seats up to 10, two seat up to 20.
• Decide on one car or two. A common split is the bridal party in the white Falcon and the groomsmen in the black Lincoln.

When your photographer has a plan

• Agree one or two photo stops and add them to your timeline.
• Work out the time from first pickup to final drop-off, including photos.
• Check whether the photographer wants shots of the car at the ceremony.

In the final week

• Share your run sheet with your chauffeur, with every address and time.
• Name one contact person for the day who is not the bride or groom.
• Confirm any last changes to pickups.

What to tell us, and what it costs

Wedding hire starts from $1,200 for 3 hours. Three hours often covers a pickup, the ceremony, a photo stop and the drive to the reception when the venues are reasonably close. The quote form has five steps. Here is what to put in each one:

1. Occasion: choose Wedding.
2. Date and pickup time: the first pickup, not the ceremony start.
3. Limo, passengers and hours: white, black or both, how many in each car, and your estimate of hours.
4. Pickup suburb and destination: where you get ready and where the reception is.
5. Your details and notes: the ceremony venue, extra pickups such as the groom’s party, and each photo stop.

Local logistics

Getting around Auckland on your wedding day

• Crossing the harbour. If you are getting ready on the North Shore and marrying in the city, or the other way round, the trip usually uses the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Allow extra time on a busy Saturday.
• Photo stops on the way. Tamaki Drive, the Auckland Domain and Cornwall Park sit close to many central and eastern venues, so a stop there can fit between ceremony and reception without a long detour.
• Vineyard and country venues. Venues around Kumeu and Huapai in the west are usually reached via SH16. Driving time out there can make a 3-hour package tight, so plan your hours with that in mind.
• Event days. Roads near Eden Park, Spark Arena and the CBD can be busy when a big game or concert is on. Check event calendars for your date.
• Arrival at the venue. A stretch limo needs room at the kerb. Ask your venue where a long car can stop and include it in your notes.

Our wedding cars are two chauffeur-driven stretch limousines, a white Ford Falcon and a black Lincoln, each seating up to 10. Wedding hire starts from $1,200 for 3 hours. That is the whole fleet: we do not run buses, vans or vintage cars, so here is how couples use one or both limos.

Four common ways to book

Who rides where

• Bride and up to 9 others: one limo for the bride, bridesmaids and parents.
• Both sides, up to 20 in total: both limos, one for each side.
• Groom’s party separate, bride wants a quiet ride: groomsmen in one limo, bride with a parent in the other.

More than 20 people at once will not fit in one trip, so plan other transport for the rest of your guests.

Photo stops: North Shore

Planning from the North Shore? Takapuna Beach with Rangitoto behind you; Mt Victoria and North Head in Devonport for harbour views (vehicle access near the top can be limited, so plan to walk the last part); Cheltenham Beach and Narrow Neck for quieter sand; Lake Pupuke for calm water and trees.
